I Believe Impossible is Nothing

Whenever I sit down to watch a sporting event or anything of that nature it always comes to mind that those athletes are accomplishing something that they probably never dreamed of doing. For them it probably seemed impossible that they could win five NBA championships or that one day they would be scoring the game winning touchdown in the Super Bowl. I love to see the look on athletes faces as they accomplish a spectacular feat. I feel as though I am watching a young child who just pulled a chair up to the counter and successfully stole his first cookie. They look so pure and innocent and as though they don't have a care in the world. I am often jealous of this and believe that in comparison to these superhuman athletes I am only a mere mortal. How could someone as simple and childish as me ever accomplish anything great in my life. Is it possible that as just a normal Missouri kid that I could one day make a difference in at least one other persons life. It seems far stretched but the more I think about it I realize that this idea is the one that prevents the weak from becoming strong, and the poor from becoming rich. If Kevin Durant told himself that he was a worthless basketball player who would be lucky to anything with his talent, then I seriously doubt he would stand where he does today. I find it hard to believe that Kobe Bryant set his life goals at becoming a failure and begging the streets for money when he grew old. I truly believe that these men and many others told themselves that they could do the impossible. That one day they would stand on a podium because they chose to. The movie The Pursuit of Happyness quotes, "Don't you ever let somebody tell you that you can't do something....." I find that the more I think about my life, the more I want to be great. The more I think about who I am, the more I want to be remembered. Nobody can tell me what I can or can't do. For Brady Shanklin the sky is the limit, and even then I can choose to go farther, because for me impossible is nothing.

  1. I know exactly what you mean. I have had the same thoughts run through my head when I was either watching a sporting event or a concert. Even someone like Michael Jordan still got super excited when he won titles and stuff. We all are capable of the same things. We all are capable of achieving the impossible if we just know how to set our sights high enough.

  2. My parents have always told me that I can do anything I put my mind to. This is so true and as long as we keep our heads up and our eye on the prize the world has endless possibilities.
